Each board is butcher block made from sustainably harvested hard maple, light and modern, the wood that goes with everything. We cut the letters by hand in our Hampden studio in Baltimore, then sand and finish the board so it's ready to use the day it arrives. Slice on it, serve on it, and when you're home, lean it against the backsplash where it can make you smile.

It's an easy gift to get right. The mini makes a bon voyage gift for the friend with a trip on the calendar or a hostess gift for a weekend at the lake house, and the small is a sweet housewarming gift for a new kitchen.
