A Dedicated Cutting Board for a Celiac or Gluten Free Kitchen

A great gift for the person in your life who has celiac disease or eats gluten free, and a smart addition to your own shared kitchen. This large gluten free cutting board has the words “Seriously Gluten Free” laser engraved right into the maple, so everyone who walks into the kitchen knows which board is which. No one has to ask, “Is this gluten free?”

Why This Gluten Free Cutting Board Is So Lovable

  • The words “Seriously Gluten Free” are laser engraved into the wood in our Baltimore woodshop, so there's no sticker to peel and no label to wash off.
  • It's our large size, with room to slice a loaf of gluten free bread, chop vegetables for dinner, or lay out a spread for guests.
  • It's thick butcher block made from sustainably harvested American hardwood, built for everyday chopping.
  • It doubles as a serving board. On a buffet, it tells guests which food is gluten free without a single place card.
  • You can add rubber feet, which lift the board off the counter so it dries evenly and is easier to pick up.

In a kitchen where some family members eat gluten and some don't, the hard part is the little stuff: the crumbs, the sandwich knife, the board somebody just used for regular toast. Giving gluten free food its own board, one that never gets used for anything else, is one of the simplest habits a household can adopt. It only works if everyone can tell the boards apart, and this one is impossible to mix up.

It earns its keep at gatherings, too. Bring it out for a holiday dinner or a potluck and the gluten free dishes have a clearly marked home. One mom told us she bought it for her daughter, who has celiac disease, so guests would know not to set anything containing gluten on it.

Each board is made in our Hampden woodshop in Baltimore from hard maple butcher block, sanded and finished by hand, then engraved in the same shop. And for every board we sell, we plant a tree in the U.S.

Want one with a name on it? Our personalized Seriously Gluten Free cutting board adds a hand-cut name, and you'll find more ideas in our gluten free gifts collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a separate cutting board for gluten free food?

Crumbs and residue from bread, crackers, and other foods with gluten can end up on a shared board and transfer to the next thing cut on it. Many households that cook both ways keep one board just for gluten free food and never use it for anything else. A clearly marked board makes that easy for family and guests to follow. For medical guidance, check with your doctor or dietitian.

Are wooden cutting boards more sanitary than plastic ones?

Research has shown that hardwood cutting boards can be a safe option for food preparation when cleaned properly. Regular washing and allowing the board to dry thoroughly between uses are important regardless of the material.

How do I care for a wooden cutting board?

Hand wash your board with warm water and mild soap, then prop it up so that it dries on all sides (you can also set it on a cookie rack to elevate it from the counter allowing for good air flow). Avoid soaking it in water. Periodically applying food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner will help maintain its beauty and prevent the wood from drying out.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 1–2 business days after they're ready. Personalized and made-to-order items are made first, and the Shipping tab on each product page lists that production time.

Once we generate a shipping label, you'll get a confirmation email with a tracking number. It can take up to 24 hours for the carrier to start updating tracking information, so don't worry if it shows nothing right away.

Sending this as a gift? We never include pricing on the packing slip — so it's safe to ship directly to the recipient.

What happens if I'm not happy with my order?

We unconditionally guarantee every gift we make. If something arrives that doesn't live up to your expectations — a defect, damage in transit, anything that isn't right — contact us and we'll make it right by sending a replacement.

We've been doing this since 2013, and we'd rather you tell us when something's wrong than walk away unhappy. Email kim@wordswithboards.com or use our contact page and we'll take care of you.

Gorgeous!

We love it! This cutting board is absolutely beautiful —and it will also keep our daughter who has Celiac disease safe because guests will know not to put anything containing gluten on it. If anyone who can’t eat gluten visits, they will know that they are safe too.
The quality of the board is outstanding. The wood is simply lovely. And I couldn’t believe how quickly it arrived! I do a lot of my shopping online, and this was truly one of the best experiences ever.
In short, I highly recommend both this cutting board and this company, Words with Boards!!
