The story behind our new "Seriously" collection

This collection of Seriously KOSHER, Seriously GLUTEN FREE  and Seriously VEGAN cutting boards have been in the works for a while so I'm so excited to finally introduce them to you. Our inspiration for this line came from friends, family and customers. Read all about it below.

Seriously Kosher. Kosher Kitchen.

The idea for the kosher line came from a customer. We made two custom cutting boards one with the word “Milk” and one with the word “Meat” for her kosher kitchen. She loved them so much she gave the custom cutting boards as holiday gifts to her family for their kosher kitchens.

We often get asked “Are the cutting boards kosher”? The answer is yes, the cutting boards are absolutely fine for a kosher kitchen. The cutting boards are made of wood and we treat them with food-grade mineral oil, that’s it. Separate cutting boards for meat and milk are essential kitchen tools for a kosher kitchen.

We get awesome ideas from our customers, so keep ‘em comin’!

Seriously Gluten-Free. Gluten Free Gifts.

I’m not celiac or gluten intolerant but I have been through stages in my life when I have cut out all gluten from my diet. There are so many gluten free products on the market so it’s easy to do and I feel that I have more energy when I don’t eat gluten.

But the real reason for developing this line came from family and friends. I have a nephew that was recently diagnosed with gluten intolerance and he was very sick during the time they were trying to diagnose him. I also have several good friends that have Celiac disease. They get very sick if any gluten foods touch their lips. They have to be extremely careful with cross contamination when they go out to eat and also in their own shared kitchens. To have a dedicated cutting board that says Seriously GLUTEN FREE gives them piece of mind that gluten foods have not touched the board. So, this line is for them and everyone else who has health issues from eating gluten. Gluten free gifts that are fun to give and also very practical.

Seriously Vegan. Vegan Products.

Everyone knows that odd numbers are best when decorating a home or, as I’m learning, for food styling so we needed to come up with a third phrase to round out the collection. My Aunt Bettie is vegan so “Seriously VEGAN” made the cut.

I recently spent 2 weeks with my mom and Aunt Bettie, she calls herself “the favorite” and she is:). We were helping my mom recover from hip replacement surgery in Florida and our favorite vegan meal was pizza. We would go to Whole Foods and have pizza made with vegan cheese. She had no idea you could ask them to make a pizza with vegan cheese, it was a huge discovery for her!

Of course I gave her a Seriously VEGAN board which she LOVED. Vegan’s chop lots of fruits and veggies so they need a good quality cutting board.  Plus, wood cutting boards won’t dull your knives.

A lower price point.

This collection includes large and round cutting boards that don’t need to be personalized. We did this so we could offer the same great quality wood cutting board at a lower price. We added a hole in the upper corner of the large boards which can be used for hanging or for a small bowl.

Possible future additions to the collection.

Other ideas for the Seriously cutting board collection are “Seriously NUT FREE”, “Seriously DAIRY FREE”, “Seriously SOY FREE” and “Seriously SUGAR FREE”. Stay tuned, we may add these at some point.

My sister is Gluten Free too. I love that this is a great way to incorporate her lifestyle and make it unique and fun. She is not gluten-free by choice she has celiac’s but over the years has gotten okay with it. I totally want to figure out what hers should say! Aweomse that you do it. Thanks!
