Every board starts as sustainably forested American walnut in our Hampden studio in Baltimore. We cut the walnut into blocks, stand each one on its end, and glue them back together, 108 pieces in the smaller board and 195 in the larger one. Then it's sanded smooth and finished by hand. No two boards look alike, because no two walnut trees do. A monthly coat of food-grade mineral oil keeps it looking this good for decades.
