This small personalized vertical cutting board has a name hand-cut across the top of solid American hardwood, one letter at a time. It's sized to live on the counter, so it gets used and admired every day.
Why This Small Vertical Cutting Board Is So Lovable
- It's the right size for a cheese course for two, a few hors d'oeuvres, or a sandwich at lunch, and it takes up very little room on the counter.
- The name is hand-cut with a scroll saw into the top of the board, so it won't fade, peel, or wear off in the wash.

Most days, this board is more of a serving board than a chopping block. Set it out with a wedge of cheese and some crackers, use it as a sandwich plate, or slide it under a warm dish as a trivet. You can chop on it, too, though if they need a workhorse for the kitchen, our end grain cutting board is the best one for the job.
Every board starts as sustainably forested American hardwood in our Hampden woodshop in Baltimore. The letters are cut by hand with a scroll saw, then sanded smooth by one of our artisans. Maple is light and modern, cherry deepens to a warm red as it ages, and walnut is dark and striking.
This is an easy board to give more than one of. Customers have ordered three at a time for the special people on their list, and given them as thank-you gifts to their own customers. And for every board we sell, we plant a tree in the U.S.

Add a name, a nickname, or a short word, up to 10 letters, hand-cut in our Classic lettering across the top. Want to mark the day? Add a laser-engraved date, like a wedding date or the day they got the keys. You can also add rubber feet, which lift the board off the counter so it dries evenly and is easier to pick up. The right size depends on how you plan to use it. Smaller boards are perfect for meal prep for 1-2 people or for serving cheese and appetizers. How do I care for a wooden cutting board?
Hand wash your board with warm water and mild soap, then prop it up so that it dries on all sides (you can also set it on a cookie rack to elevate it from the counter allowing for good air flow). Avoid soaking it in water. Periodically applying food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner will help maintain its beauty and prevent the wood from drying out.
