It's one of our favorite gifts for the friend who always brings the good bottle. A wine-themed board comes out for every cheese course and tasting night, and it pairs naturally with a bottle of their favorite. It's a popular housewarming and hostess gift, too.
Personalized cutting boards make wonderful gifts for weddings, anniversaries, housewarmings, engagements, bridal showers, Mother's Day, Father's Day, retirements, realtor closing gifts, and holidays. They are also a thoughtful way to commemorate family recipes and milestones.
Yes! High-quality wooden cutting boards are safe for food prep when properly cared for. We think they really shine when used as a charcuterie board. Personalized cutting boards can be both functional and meaningful, making them a gift that is enjoyed for years to come.
The personalization field on this page shows the maximum length, and it varies by product and size. Not sure your wording will fit? Email or text us before you order and we'll help you find a layout that looks great.
We do not provide proofs unless the board has special design features, such as custom messaging or logos not shown on the web site.
It depends on the product. Each product page lists its production time in the Shipping tab, and personalized pieces are made to order in our Baltimore studio. During the holiday season, allowing extra time is always recommended. If you need it sooner, please email us at kim@wordswithboards.com
Hand wash your board with warm water and mild soap, then prop it up so that it dries on all sides (you can also set it on a cookie rack to elevate it from the counter allowing for good air flow). Avoid soaking it in water. Periodically applying food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner will help maintain its beauty and prevent the wood from drying out.
We believe made in America matters — for the hands that make it, the economy we support, and the planet we all share.
In our Hampden woodshop, our artisans cut, sand, and finish our boards and lazy susans by hand, whether the words are hand-cut on a scroll saw or engraved in our studio. No shortcuts. Ever.
We use sustainably forested American hardwoods, and for every cutting board we sell, a tree gets planted right here in the U.S.
