A Kosher Meat Board, Laser Engraved So It Never Gets Mixed Up

A great gift for the family that keeps a kosher home, and a smart upgrade for your own kitchen. This kosher cutting board for meat has “Seriously Kosher” laser engraved in the lower right corner and MEAT engraved around the hole in the upper left. Anyone who walks into the kitchen, from a visiting grandparent to the friend helping with Shabbat dinner, knows exactly which board is for meat. No one has to ask.

Why This Kosher Cutting Board for Meat Is So Lovable

  • Both markings are laser engraved into the wood in our Baltimore woodshop, so there’s no sticker to peel and no marker to fade in the wash.
  • It’s our large size, with room to slice a roast chicken, trim a brisket, or lay out a platter for guests.
  • It’s thick butcher block made from sustainably harvested American hardwood, built for everyday chopping.
  • It has a partner: our Seriously Kosher Milk board gives the dairy side of the kitchen a clearly marked board of its own.
  • The food-grade mineral oil we finish it with is certified Kosher, Pareve, and Halal.

In a kosher kitchen, meat and dairy each get their own dishes, their own utensils, and their own cutting boards. The rule is simple. Following it is harder when the boards look alike, a guest is pitching in, or the kids are helping get a holiday meal on the table. A board that says what it’s for, right on the wood, takes the guessing out of it.

It earns its place at the table, too. Bring it out for Shabbat dinner, a holiday meal, or a backyard barbecue, and the meat has a clearly marked home. Planning a kosher charcuterie spread? Our guide to building a Seriously Kosher spread has ideas for both the meat board and the dairy board.

Each board is made in our Hampden woodshop in Baltimore from maple butcher block. It’s sanded and finished by hand, then engraved in the same shop. Maple is light and modern, and it goes with everything. And for every board we sell, we plant a tree in the U.S.

It’s a thoughtful wedding or housewarming gift for a couple setting up their first kosher kitchen. It also makes a lovely thank-you for the family that always has you over for Shabbat. Want one with a name on it? Our personalized round Seriously Kosher board adds a name, hand-cut into the wood.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do kosher kitchens use separate cutting boards for meat and dairy?

Most kosher households keep separate cutting boards for meat and for dairy, along with separate dishes and utensils, so the two never mix. When each board is clearly marked, anyone helping in the kitchen can grab the right one without asking.

Is the oil used to finish this board kosher?

Yes. Our Seriously Kosher boards are finished with food-grade mineral oil that's certified Kosher, Pareve, and Halal.

Can I cut on an engraved cutting board?

Yes, it's a working cutting board, so you can chop on it as well as serve from it. Wash it by hand afterward and stand it upright to dry.

How do I care for a wooden cutting board?

Hand wash your board with warm water and mild soap, then prop it up so that it dries on all sides (you can also set it on a cookie rack to elevate it from the counter allowing for good air flow). Avoid soaking it in water. Periodically applying food-safe mineral oil or board conditioner will help maintain its beauty and prevent the wood from drying out.

When will my order ship?

Most orders ship within 1–2 business days after they're ready. Personalized and made-to-order items are made first, and the Shipping tab on each product page lists that production time.

Once we generate a shipping label, you'll get a confirmation email with a tracking number. It can take up to 24 hours for the carrier to start updating tracking information, so don't worry if it shows nothing right away.

Sending this as a gift? We never include pricing on the packing slip — so it's safe to ship directly to the recipient.
