What's the difference between the food-safe and not food-safe finish?
The food-safe finish is food-safe mineral oil and beeswax. It does need a little maintenance to stay looking its best. The not food-safe finish is a poly coating: you can serve food on it, but you shouldn't cut on it.
How do I care for my lazy susan?
For the food-safe finish, wash it by hand with mild soap and water, stand it upright so it dries on all sides, and give it a fresh coat of mineral oil or beeswax whenever the wood starts to look dry. For the poly finish, just wipe it with a damp cloth. Either way, never put it in the dishwasher or let it sit in water.
Is a personalized lazy susan a good wedding gift?
It's one of our most-given wedding gifts. A lazy susan gets used at nearly every meal, and with the couple's names or family name on it, it becomes a keepsake they'll bring out for years. It's a popular bridal shower and housewarming gift, too.

How long does it take to make my order?
It depends on the product. Each product page lists its production time in the Shipping tab, and personalized pieces are made to order in our Baltimore studio. During the holiday season, allowing extra time is always recommended. If you need it sooner, please email us at kim@wordswithboards.com
When will my order ship?
Most orders ship within 1–2 business days after they're ready. Personalized and made-to-order items are made first, and the Shipping tab on each product page lists that production time.
Once we generate a shipping label, you'll get a confirmation email with a tracking number. It can take up to 24 hours for the carrier to start updating tracking information, so don't worry if it shows nothing right away.
Sending this as a gift? We never include pricing on the packing slip — so it's safe to ship directly to the recipient.
